What tests are performed before shipment?

I. Outgoing Tests for Bare PCB

(1) Electrical Test (Flying Probe / Fixture ICT): Open circuit, short circuit and insulation continuity test for the entire board

(2) Full Visual Inspection: AOI optical inspection for trace notches, short circuits and exposed copper

(3) Dimensional Measurement with Calipers: Outline dimension, board thickness, hole position and V-CUT depth

(4) Sampling Cross-Section Inspection for Hole Aperture & Hole Wall Copper Thickness (High-end PCB)

(5) Impedance Test: Actual measurement of differential / single-ended impedance for impedance-controlled PCB

(6) Solderability Test: Solder dipping test to verify the reliability of surface finish

(7) Solder Mask Adhesion & Acid/Alkali Resistance Test (Upon Request)


II. Outgoing Tests for SMT Assembled PCBA

(1) Solder Joint Visual Inspection

AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection): Detect cold solder, insufficient solder, solder bridging, tombstoning, component offset, wrong components and missing components

Manual Visual Inspection: Through-hole pins, large components and connector solder joints

(2) ICT (In-Circuit Test)

Detect hidden cold solder joints, internal open circuits, adjacent pin short circuits, wrongly mounted and missing components

(3) FCT (Functional Circuit Test)

Power-on real test via dedicated test fixture:

Verify normal voltage & current of each circuit; ensure smooth communication of all interfaces (USB, Ethernet, Serial Port, Power, IO); check normal operation of chips, peripherals, indicators, buttons and relays; no abnormal overheating, noise, crash or reboot.

(4) Additional Reliability Tests (Upon Request)

Burn-in Test: Full-load power-on aging for 2–4 hours to screen early failures

Temperature Cycling Test

Drop / Vibration Test (Complete unit with enclosure)

Hipot / Dielectric Withstanding Voltage Test (Mandatory for power boards & industrial boards)

Conformal coating adhesion inspection

(5) Final Supplementary Inspection

Verification of laser marking content

Inspection on assembly tightness of screws, heat sinks and auxiliary materials

Board cleanliness check, no residual flux

Verification of hardware revision, barcode & quantity; ESD vacuum packaging
